Last Thursday, December 5, 2013, the second of two Movie Nights was hosted by the ELC – once again in the American Corner of the UM Library. The film shown was The Heat (2013), an action/comedy/crime movie about two unlikely partners who get paired together to work on a criminal case.
The film was rich in cultural references and informal language, which provided attendees with an interesting, if humorous look at American culture. Hosts Kerry Pusey and Marie discussed this point and other aspects of the film both before and after it was shown.
The atmosphere was quite relaxed and fun for the occasion. Attendees enjoyed popcorn and other refreshments while viewing and everyone was laughing out loud at various points during the screening. It appeared that everyone was happy about the film selection.
