The ELC hosted a friendly table tennis tournament on Friday, November 15th in the UM Sports Complex Pavilion. Skill levels ranged from beginner (in the case of the host, ELC Teaching Fellow Kerry Pusey) to quite advanced (in the case of the tournament winner – a first year student from Mainland China), and students came from both undergraduate and graduate levels.
After a series of warm-up rounds, the competition ensued in two single elimination rounds. First, second, and third place winners were awarded some nice prizes, and everyone got to enjoy some snacks and drinks.
While the turn out was not the largest of the semester’s events, all who attended seemed to thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to make some new friends, enjoy some tasty snacks, practice English, and play ping-pong!
