A group of UM students visited the Macau Art Museum last Friday (April 4, 2014) as one of the ELC Spring Semester Events 2014. The group saw the exhibitions of Hong Kong and Macau Illustrations, Macao Scenario: Animamix Biennale, and Historical Paintings of Macao in the 19th Century. Participants received free entrance tickets and souvenirs after completing a simple task which is a quiz about the exhibitions. They had to define some art terminologies such as ‘illustration’ and ‘animamix’ (a term which combines animation and comics), and learned about the importance of western paintings to Macau and China, where they have been used since the 16th century. It was the first visit of the art museum for some participants ,and they said that they would like to visit the museum again.
