On Tuesday the 17th of December at six in the evening, English Language Centre Teacher Dan Burge hosted karaoke night with nine students in attendance. The aim of the activity was to have UMAC students practicing their English while singing a variety of English songs, some from many years ago, others more recent. It was plain to see that as the night progressed students gradually started to build up their confidence and were more willing participants. The night was filled with energy and enthusiasm as students showed off their performance skills in a very casual, relaxed setting. Songs from famous artists such as Katy Perry, Westlife, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Celine Dion, John Lennon, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, David Bowie and Phil Collins were all attempted. So much fun ensued and the whole night didn’t finish until 11 p.m. There was a total of five hours of non-stop fun and entertainment.
