Last week, the ELC has hosted its 9th English Language Festival. The Festival took place over 3 days from Wednesday, November 6 to Friday, November 8 and showcased academic and extra-curricular activities with the aim of promoting English skills awareness and usage around campus.
Two guest speakers in the TESOL field arrived from mainland China to give presentations and workshops centered on English as a Second Language (ESL) skills. The ELC was excited to welcome Myra Ingmanson, Assistant Director, English Language Center, Shantou University and Tony Newman, Senior English Language Fellow, U.S. Department of State/Jinan University.
Some of the extra-curricular events included: an English afternoon tea, Jeopardy game, DIY cocktail party, James Bond Skyscraper building contest, and the End of ELC English Festival Party. More academic events included a graduate school panel, student presentations, a grammar workshop, creative writing workshop, and several guest speakers.
